Jory documentation
Guides for every part of Jory, from your first command to building a whole server.
Getting started
Add Jory, sign in and find your way around.
- Introduction: Jory is a Discord bot you run by asking. It handles moderation, messages, roles, tickets and more, and every change waits for your approval.
- Add Jory to a server: Invite the bot, then sign in to the dashboard with the same Discord account.
- A tour of the dashboard: Where everything lives once you are signed in.
- Turning features on: Each feature is a module. Switch on the ones you want and leave the rest off.
Assistant
Ask in plain words and approve what it drafts.
- Asking for things: Describe the job the way you would tell a person. Jory works out the channels, roles and timing.
- Approving changes: Nothing changes in your server until you press Approve.
- Mentions and pictures: Point at real channels, roles and members, and attach pictures to use in posts.
- Talking instead of typing: Hold the mic button and say what you want.
- Sharing a chat: Give someone a read only link to a conversation.
- When the assistant is busy: There is a daily limit on assistant requests. Jory keeps working when you reach it.
Server builder
Plan and build a whole server in one go.
- Ready made layouts: Start from a layout for gaming, study, creators, support and more.
- Building a server: Describe the server you want and approve the layout.
- Big builds: Up to two hundred roles, channels, events and rules in one go.
Moderation
Cases, AutoMod, logs and who can do what.
- Cases and actions: Every warning, timeout, kick and ban becomes a numbered case with a reason.
- Automatic punishments: Escalate on its own, like a timeout after three warnings.
- AutoMod: Block spam, invite links, mass mentions and words you choose.
- Logging: Send joins, leaves, edits, deletions and role changes to channels you pick.
- Staff and command access: Decide which roles can use which commands, and where.
- Clean ups and locks: Delete a batch of messages, lock a channel or slow it down.
Messages
Embeds, schedules, sticky messages and tags.
- Embeds: Build posts with colours, fields, pictures and buttons, with a live preview.
- Sending and editing: Post to any channel, or change a message Jory already sent.
- Scheduler: Post once at a set time, or repeat on a schedule.
- Sticky messages: Keep a message at the bottom of a channel.
- Tags: Saved replies your staff can send in one command.
- Mass DM: Message many members at once, paced so Discord stays happy.
Community
Welcome, leveling, roles, giveaways and polls.
- Welcome and boosts: Greet new members, say goodbye, and thank people who boost.
- Leveling: Members earn XP for chatting, climb the leaderboard and earn roles.
- Role panels: Let members pick their own roles.
- Auto and sticky roles: Roles for everyone who joins, and roles back for people who return.
- Gradient roles and emoji: Style roles and upload emoji and stickers from the dashboard.
- Giveaways: Prizes with winners picked at random.
- Polls: Native Discord polls, or reaction polls from the dashboard.
Tickets
Private help with transcripts and ratings.
- Setting up tickets: Make a panel members press to open a private ticket.
- Handling a ticket: Claim, answer and close, right inside the ticket channel.
- Transcripts and ratings: Every closed ticket is kept with its conversation.
Reference
Every command and what is kept.
- All commands: Every slash command, grouped by what it is for.
- What Jory keeps: How long each kind of record stays.
